What is Acid Reflux ?

Acid reflux is a digestive condition where the stomach acids flow back into the esophagus (the gullet or tube which connects the stomach to the throat). Acid Reflux Prevention

  1. Stay away from processed or canned foods on account of the high preservative content of these foods.
  2. Reduce your intake of sugar to a minimum level.
  3. Avoid carbonated drinks and spicy foods as these foods may elevate the acidic content of stomach, thereby aggravating the affliction.
  4. It’s always better to have the dinner at least 2 hours before going to bed.
  5. Frequent use of medicines like aspirin or disprin should be avoided.

  1. White vinegar: The best acid reflux treatment is to have 1-2 tablespoons of white vinegar.
  2. Clove and cardamom: Sucking them relieves Acidity or Acid Reflux.
  3. Cold milk : Helps in relieving burning caused by acid.
  4. Jaggery or mishri (refined sugar):Consume 10grams, it helps in curbing the acid reflux.
  5. Water: It is a good neutralizer for acid. Drink water in the early morning as it controls acidity.
  6. Cabbage juice: Drinking cabbage juice daily prevents Acid Reflux.
  7. Apple cider vinegar and honey: Take a mixture of two teaspoons of both in a glass of water before meals.
  8. Milk and milk products: Their consumption is beneficial during acidity.
  9. Cumin seeds: Boil them in a glass of water and drink it with meals.
  10. Ginger root extract: Its consumption ameliorates the ailment.
  11. Water: Drink a glass of water with a teaspoon of soda. It is beneficial and is good home remedy for acid reflux.
